Pastel path to the beach
You may remember this painting from a past post.
When moving some canvases I found it sitting on a easel against the wall, unfinished and forgotten about.
I seized the moment, seized some pastels and laid down some clouds and waves on the water. Whilst still in seizure mode I got in the car and took it off to the framers. Wasn’t till I got home I realised that I had forgotten to sign it!
Lots of other images are floating around, awaiting their turn to be laid down on paper or canvas. You can see my underlying paper colour (before pastel is applied) in my top image.
SO many exhibitions on at the moment – back to the easel!

I remember seeing it before and its looking great. An unsigned masterpiece.
beautifully done, you are going to have to find a way to add your sig though!
Thanks Diane and Brenda,
I was actually going to start adhering an “Artist’s Profile” flyer/statement to the back of each piece. A good artist friend of mine has been doing it for years, and I completely forgot about it until I turned over one of her framed pieces the other day. It could also double as a “Certificate of Authenticty”, which I see so much of these days with people’s work.
I attended a great workshop run by a Government Dept specifically set up to help the Arts – just wonderful. Must dedicate a post to it soon.
Thanks for stopping by!
I’m glad you got into an artistic frenzy and completed this one – sorry about the forgotten signature. Maybe you could run to the framers and sign it before it’s framed? Lovely piece with the violets and the alabaster posts and sand just begging to have my footsteps added to that pathway
gorgeous
you are so talented. This is spot on – we have been enjoying vacationing on Lake Michigan these past two weeks and it looks so like this in spots. Just visited a Light house and the kids had a great time walking on the rocks and climbing over the driftwood. I know this is probably of the ocean, but the grass, sand and sun look the same.
I love that painting! Looks great with the finishing touches. Hope you get to sign it before it’s framed! Beautiful colors and details in the sand.
