Calligraphy Goodies old and new
Our monthly Calligraphy Guild meeting was held on Saturday, and as usual, our members brought in some fascinating “Show & Tell”.
Rescued from an outside laundry where it lay for years was this Masonic Certificate from 1935. (The Ancient Order of Foresters).
Some antique calligraphic implements - ebony, crystal & silver ink wells and very old pens.
Including this glass sand pen.
There is a Calligraphic Summer School in Winter happening in Melbourne this week. One of our members will be attending, and has created these fabulous “pins” to trade with the other calligraphers. Miniature jewels they are.
Everyone was so impressed that there’s talk that we’ll be doing these as a swap project ourselves.
Then there was the “homework”, always so inspirational to see what some of our Members can do.
If anyone would like to come along to a Calligraphers Guild meeting, just drop me a line and we’ll be sure to welcome you!
