Waterlillies are loving the weather up here. And they seem to proliferate everywhere. I shot this one up at Port Douglas - where they existed in almost every colour of the rainbow.

Groceries are better, although the perishables are still rather thin on the shelves.

Glad to hear that relatives and friends are safe down south for some of you, althougth the loss of everything must be undeniably hard.

More rain coming in tonight - even the lawn has fungus and mould growing on it....

I feel the koala picture is a glimmer of hope and light in the face of all the human tragedy.... one can spare a moment for a beautiful little creature, in the face of all the devastation, that could be helped, and the miracle of it when this wild creature allowed a human to assist. I guess a phycologist could explain why we find this photograph uplifting. The water lily reminds beauty still abounds, great shot Cindy. I remember the scene in moonlight.

Have you developed webbed feet yet....not sick of lollies and chocolates yet....hang on tomorrow is chocolate day for some.....

We need to focus on beautiful things like your lotus and the koala drinking from a water bottle. I know it makes me feel slightly better but also guilty about feeling so bad when all I have done is witness the loss, not experience it like so many. My family are all ok so far, though a good friend of my brothers has lost her house in Flowerdale - no loss of life though so that is something of a good thing for her. I feel so drained by the last 5 days but also so pathetic because I have not gone through a miniscule amount of the terror that these people have been through.

The koala shot has made headlines around the world, I hope they also hear about the human toll. I can't help picturing what an awful death they mst have had. Good news about the trucks.

great news on the food delivery. When you see beautiful plants like this, you realise that where there is tragedy there is also hope & beauty. We copped a heap of rain last night, hope it does not head your way
