Thanks for all your well wishes guys, and thanks to all the "interstaters" who've called and SMSed.

We are now living in Mud City. The weekend paving job that Jez and jeff so proudly worked on has been undermined, with most of the backyard BBQ paving sand now residing in the front yard. Paving now looks like an earthquake happened.

Our new garden bed by the side fence has washed out over the lawn, due to next door's pool overflowing. That will confuse the dratted bandiccot, who takes perverse pleasure in ripping out new garden beds.

Other than that, everything's a bit damp and squishy, but all ok.

Tazar, definately the cat eating the dog. That python vs cockatoo thing will follow me forever, and I've dropped you an email. Had to chase a dodgy cockie out of The Tree of Death this evening. He had Python Dinner written all over him....

Glad Charlotte petered out before too much wind damage occurred. Looks like an awful lot of water there. What a shame it can't be piped to our dams. Hopefully you have enough supplies (of Vodka and mango) until you can get in and out of your street again.
Tazar is funny.

OMGosh......that doesnt look good! Hope your lovely car was high and dry!

I feel a bit 'cut off' today - its too hot to go out, no hope of getting out in the car...

Will venture down the back yard for a swim with the kids soon, give me 41 dry degrees anyday over that nasty humidity....although I hear it is good for ones skin!

Glad to hear you got off relatively lightly. Cairns flooding even made the front page of the NT News which is a bit of a miracle for our local rag - the front page generally consists of crocodiles, big crocs, sharks, crocs eating sharks, crocodiles and more crocodiles.

http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2009/01/13/26745_ntnews.html

And then I opened up the paper and inside there was a two page spread on animals eating animals and yes, there amongst the crocs eating wallabies was your python eating cockie again! Your name was even mentioned in the write up, glad to see you were credited. But of course in true parochial Territory style the story ended with the horrific news that ALL the photos came from QLD and come on Territorians surely you can better this! I am standing by with my SLR (which came with a free camera bag by the way.............) urging Oscar to eat The Cat or vice versa, or something.

Unfortunately the animal page doesn't appear on the NT News internet version but I can send you a hard copy if you like.
