We’re rather damp, but that’s about all thank goodness. We saw Karumba on the news tonight, they copped a bit of wind and water. Hope your relatives weathered everything OK.

Have seen your rather warm conditions way out west. At least you don’t have 98% humidity (the reading at 3pm today!) The Tropics certainly keeps us on our toes!

Hope you do not get the full blast…..my brothers, nieces and nephews are at Karumba and and unable to contact them at the present. Ron has the Point Service Station and is not far from the sea so am a little concerned.

I’m all for shooing cyclones away - you guys have lightened my mood about the whole thing!

Our local supermarket has really gotten into the spirit of things, with batteries, water and candles all highlighted prominently throughout the store. I spent $27 on batteries to power a couple of torches and the radio - lets hope cyclones aren’t too frequent!

The most important kit items (as per Tazar’s instructions) of mangoes and vodka are safely at the ready!

WOW…..well you can always be grateful you have lasted one year without needing this info…

I could be cheeky and suggest ensuring the camera/video are all ready for action (and extra batteries) Well you might need something to do while you are waiting!

I don`t envy you one little bit…Infact I`d be pooping my pants right about now….I hope for your sake it doesn`t eventuate…..And make sure you don`t forget the alcohol…Plenty of it…
There`s always something when living in the tropics….

Cyclone kit - make sure you include lots of vodka and mangoes…… I have a permanent “kit” in bits and pieces stashed around the house but don’t bother putting it all together until things get really serious. Instead of filling a bath with water I keep a few 15 litre containers of water in the cupboard. And rather than putting documents in plastic I’ve got a 20 litre plastic container with a waterproof lid that important stuff can be thrown into (Bunnings, check they have an O-ring in the lid).

At the start of every Wet I check the radio and torch batteries and make sure there’s plenty of strong garbage bags about for clothes etc. (stuff like that sells out quick at the supermarket when panic sets in). Have some strong boots or shoes on hand too, you don’t want to be tripping about in thongs if the worst happens and there’s glass and stuff everywhere. Keep your phone batteries charged in case you lose power but still have phone reception.

Apart from that sit back, sip on your mango cocktails and urge Charlotte to visit the NT instead - we’ll send her straight on to WA!

Goodness, that’s a bit scary. We’ve been through a couple of hurricanes in Belize, so I know what it’s like!

oooh! Cyclones are nasty. Hope it doesn’t cause you any damage. Keep a torch handy, any medication have in a waterproof container and take to the bathroom and huddle. Don’t forget your camera. Good luck.
