Wasn’t she beautiful?
There was a gigantic spotlight blazing into my bedroom at 5 this morning. Of course I had to go outside and watch her sail across the sky. Naturally the camera came too.
Each month the full moon shows a different face, a different colour even. New craters, new mares (the flat “seas”), new mountains to look at. If you’d like to know the names and details of these features, click here. It’s amazing to think that all those bumps and craters have been named.
I feel so light. Free at last from uni pressures.
Thank you all for your words of encouragement during my last few s t r e s s f u l weeks. They meant a lot to me.
Expect me to be back to full posting strength by Monday.
If you get a chance, go outside and catch a glimpse of the gorgeous girl herself - she’s out there right now doing her thing.

Funny to think that over here in Scotland , it’s the same old moon we look at!
Great photo!
Great shot Cindy!
Terrific shot. Nice camera. I can’t see the moon tonight it is covered with storm clouds. We had a ferocious storm this afternoon, many suburbs were hit badly but luckily we missed the damage. You must feel relieved the semester is over.
That’s a great detailed shot. I don’t think I’ve seen a clearer one.
Good to hear you have got uni dusted for the year. Enjoy your free time. But I’m sure you will find something else to load yourself up with soon to fill the “void”. Somehow I can’t imagine you relaxing by the pool drinking G+T’s for too long…
WOW……thats amazing…..
Enjoy your break from Uni…….
There was a show on Channel 7 yesterday….Seachange Treechange - that episode was on Cairns and they mentioned the Uni as one of the drawcards…..I still dont think I would cope with the humidity though…..
Cheers,……time to get stuck into those colourful cocktails again……
hi ther, im back after my month off blogging. i read about you in that other blog, whats it caled”The Cairns Post” i was very proud, i know her i thought, so grats on that and ill be around a bit now
Thanks everyone for dropping in to visit.
Hi Doda, yes, it’s odd to think that you’re looking at the same moon, although she’s showing you a different face. Your days must be getting shorter. I remember when I was there in summer I was freaking out that the sun was still out at 10pm.
Hi Doug, how are you? Still travelling around this big wide country? I’ll have to pop by you blog and check out your photos. How’s your camera going?
Hey Diane, we have been watching the news, mouths agape at all the destruction those storms caused. Even Channel 7 wasn’t spared. I hope you are all ok?
Tim, believe me, if I had a pool, I would be giving those G&T’s a run for their money! My moon shot is pretty p*ss poor compared to some of the other photographers out there. I watched Kubrick’s 2001 last night - great space images, especially considering it was made in 1968. That film just doesn’t date.
Hi Kim, yes, we saw it too. And then I got some ph. calls from the interstaters that saw it too - look out - more visitors on their way! It is so humid today you can almost drink the air.
Hey Gav, Yes, the Tree of Death was newsworthy all around the world it seem. Last week I even got some photos of a Death Adder. It’s amazing how many things up here can kill.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment!
Sorry I`m a bit late Cindy….
Fantastic shot….We had a bright yellow moon the other night….Certainly lights up the night sky….
Glad to see that you`re finally stress free from all the uni studies….Now it`ll be the stress of Christmas which is fast approaching….lol
Take care for now and great to see you back….
Hey Tim what are you doing with yourself now….You`re missed on bigblog mate!!!!!
