I need to take a panorama of the night sky showing the milky way for my next assignment (we learnt how to seamlessly "stitch" multiple photos together), so I think I'll need to wait for the moon to wane away to nothing. I do not have a macro lens. I use the Canon 18-55mm lens in the macro mode which I would imagine is not as good as the real deal. I do have a Tamron lens 70-300mm which I will try with the moon tonight. I did have my iso speed at 1600 but the photographs were not very good. I want to take the moon large like your photographs and then try a little magic with colour......Here's hoping although the cloud and wind is up today. I need to re read the literature with the camera but duh here can not locate the Canon booklet.
