Fly away home

buddha.jpg

From the land of Buddha, my best friend in the whole world is flying home to me tonight. Thousands of miles to be crossed, but he was never really far away.

I asked for him to bring me back a reclining Buddha, it’s one that I don’t have in my collection. I light candles near my Buddhas, casting a serene glow over all.

Today was day of firsts.

First time I’ve used a Mac (Very impressive new Mac lab it was too).

First time I’ve used the Adobe CS3 suite.

First time I spoke frankly and openly with my senior lecturer - where do I really want to go? I’ve only just discovered my full marks and ranking from first semester’s subjects.

First time I bought a passionfruit cheesecake slice and enjoyed it’s creamy deliciousness without a shred of guilt.

I think I like Firsts. I should try more of them.

It’s almost impossible for me to comment on anyones bigblog from work these days due to the new web filtering etc. but yours is easy.

Must be nice to have your man back. Can’t say I’ve ever been apart from wifey for more than a couple of days since we married. I know I wouldn’t like it. And I would hate to be away from the kids.

I reckon firsts are good too. It’s always nice to break new ground. It gets so mundane if everything you do is already within your sphere of experience.

    I’m busy scanning scanning scanning.

I love it when hubby is away….I get the remote ALL to myself…. AND dont have to worry about dinner (my pet hate - deciding what to cook)

    Hi everyone,

Yep, Busy Busy is the Mantra for the week.

The Man is back, and Bearing Gifts from the East. He can go away and come back anytime - in fact he’s off to NZ shortly. ( I bet everyone is saying Fush and chups).

Mandy, yep I’ve been watching Events (in between uni). What a heartbreak for Lucinda in the Individual Equestrian! At least Team Silver is something she can take home.

Tim, I’m really stretching myself, especially in a Speaking subject (it’s for theatre students). You can either view it as liberating or humiliating, the exercises we are put through. Hopefully I’ll come out the other side relatively unscathed. Bugblog still slooow then I take it?

Kim, got your emails, will reply in a minute. Stephanie will be set for life with all her product endorsements! She’s earnt the glory though, I just think of all the years spent face down in the water doing lap after lonely lap….

Haven’t been around Bugblog lately, I don’t know if they will ever sort out what happened to my blog, it’s just not happening!

    Hi Cindy,
Have been trying to recover my strength and have also done nine straight late late shifts and have spent the past two days sleeping…aaam when I was not exercising the endurance horses which I am not supposed to do with my chest at the present….but am only sitting there!!!
Another training ride on 24th and the camping and the bonfire under the stars is a huge attraction for me and do not have to worry about anything too much. Throw my leg over the horse and off…….at sparrow in the morning.
Is uplifting your referring to your husband as your best friend…..
    Regard,
    Elizabeth

Elizabeth, you really fire up the wunderlust urge in me! I used to camp out in a cow shed for a couple of weeks at a time (bath with the leeches!), and really forgot about city life for a while. Simple living with no hassles.

So you are still not 100% then? I assume you’ve cranked up the antibiotics?

Yes, best friend. Known each other since 15, married at 19. Still kids at heart.
