Fantastic as always Cindy….I too particularly like the two king fishers…
Nothing wrong with being a perfectionist….I like things to be done properly otherwise it`s a waste of your own time….
I`m always motivated, never procastinate…Just do do do and then it`s done done done…..

Such detail Cindy…you must have great patience. Do not say you leave things to the last minute tell yourself you thrive on deadlines. Your paintings are so detailed and celebrate the little dinosaurs who never cease to fascinate and do so through your paintings. Wish I had a modicum of your talent. Methinks you are a perfectionist.

Hi Everyone,

Jo-Anne, they are sweeties those Forest Kingfishers. Most mornings they are on my front fence (only if the cockies aren’t). Quick as a flash they swoop down onto the lawn and grab brekkie.

Procrastination has been with me since high school - up till 3am doing last minute assignments. Now with Uni I find nothing has changed. I do need to change though, it’s killing me ay my age!

Tracing the Family heritage sounds so intriguing. It must get your curiosity all fired up. Sister-Outlaw has done hubbie’s side all the way back to the First Fleet & Caroline Chisolm ( of old $5 note fame). I watch that SBS show “Who do you think you are”, with all the UK celebs finding out their family history. Bill Oddie’s was quite sad. Nigella’s was interesting. Are you finding many images?

Yes, striving for the “perfect” image is my downfall. I discussed this with Paul on the last day when I was stressing over a painting. Paul said to “Turn the photo over. I don’t give a ***@# what the photo looks like. You are painting your own bird”. I think that helped.

At the moment I would rather clean out the bottom of the laundry cupboard (and I am), than start a new painting. “If I don’t start, I don’t fail” is the type of mentality I suppose is lurking around.

Cindy, I think you are just too much of a perfectionist. Those paintings are awesome.
As far as getting motivated/not procrastinating - I think the key is to stop thinking so much about it. (easier said than done I know). Whenever I have trouble starting something I basically just force myself to start… in whatever way. Once that hurdle is over there is at least some momentum and energy flow to build upon and it becomes easier.

Procrastination……I am the Queen!!!!! Tax usually gets done about October 28, although EVERY year I say I won’t leave it (its actually not THAT hard!)

Motivation - should get some Childcare money back so there is a need to get it back from the Government and into MY bank account !!!!

I am impressed with all of your paintings….they must take ages…I wouldnt have the patience.

Thats like my Genealogy……keep procrastinating about going and joining the Genealogy Society and just copy everyone else’s links on Ancestry.Com - I have taken many of the branches out to the late 1600’s which I am happy about…..now I just have to confirm them all…..my great, great-grandmother is causing me no end of grief - I think there will be quite a story when I uncover HER past!!!!

I cant decide which painting I like……they are ALL great!!!

Sounds like a true Craftsman Diane. I think of all the dry stone walls covering the UK - like a giant puzzle, that can graze skin and bruise fingers!

They are terrific Cindy! The feathes and the eyes are so real. Well done. I like the two kingfishers best but the others sre excellent too. I’m a procrastinator too so I can’t help you, but like you once I start something I stick at it until its done.
Believe it or not but I saw art in a guy making a rock wall. (see my bigblog) He could see the different shapes and angles in a rock so fast and fit into the rock wall all done with a huge machine. He was very clever. I don’t know how to make a highlighted link, sorry.
