Hi girls!

Eva, will pop over an d ahve a look at your gorgeous boy, thanks for going to the trouble!

Mandy, I can hardly watch sometimes - All I can envisage is plaster casts!

Friday was a "soft" opening of the exhibition. July 25 is the official+media launch. Not sure if I can make that one as we have interstaters flying in.

Off to post about my arty day now!

Cheers

Right about now I could do with some of those balmy nights...It has been freezing to say the least....
My little one Daniel tried his hand at skate boarding once...Poor little fella...First bump in the road and he was flying through the air with the greatest of ease....Did some damage to himself and hasn`t been on one since...He has the scars to remind him...lol...
Looks like the exhibition went well....So many things to look at....
Thanks for sharing Cindy...I love your work....

A pet cemetary!! I thought it was toads having coffee. The exhibition looks interesting to say the least. Great pics of Jez I bet he was moving fast too. I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms as my camera is getting fixed. I wont have it for 4 days.

Hi Elizabeth,

It's funny, when Jez walked into the exhibition, he said "They call this art?" I said "SSSSSSSHHHHhhhh the artist might hear you!" He didn't, but I suppose he's heard it all before. If you could only see the video and soundtrack that accompany the suitcases and bones.... It's fulll on sensory overload! As I said, Contemporary Art is something I am beginning to try and appreciate. Have to think think think about it!

I did have the coffee, but couldn't resist a few good swigs of the Italian beer. What a combination!

Jez is settled, and has a few good mates that are GOOD kids. Makes a big difference. Thanks for asking, you're a sweetie.

Yes - the Pet Cemetary!

Thanks for visiting,

WOW...A busy day..... after viewing your photographs and prose feel nostalgic for what once was. Ahhh the tropics. I find the finished product of the suitcase mountain a little dark but I am on the dark side... and the skeleton with the life and nature bits appropriate. Will be an interesting journey, the Gallery exhibition. I am somewhat a philistine try hard as I might, not to be. Have difficulty at times with interpritation. After the hard work the coffee is "my cup of tea". The skate park is exciting. Has your son settled in at his school? I always found it difficult as a teenager joining a new school. ...A pet cemetery....
Look forward to the cityscapes of down town Cairns. circa 2008.
Kind regards,
Elizabeth

Hi Lynne,

Not sure if this was where your comment was supposed to go??? Sorry, left a message on your fabulous music/60's blog.

Hi Jo-Anne,

I can't even go forward on a skateboard. Backwards (and badly), is all I can manage. I can rollerskate though, and rollerblade with no confidence. All I can think of is "6 weeks in a plaster cast" when I strap the rollerblades on!

The photos from the museum are just great and interesting when I first saw the skeleton I wondered who you had bobbed off and cut up and put in a suitcase.
